The day was pretty ok, it didn't rain, I decided to not spend the entire day in fetal position sobbing violently over being closer to 30. I decided that I am quite ok with it.

So I am staring at the screen, essay time. I have 3 pages of what some boring article is about, and yet I cannot manage for figure out what to write as to why I agreed. I agreed with it because its true. How many ways can you put that into a sentence huh.

Instead of trying to find out what the Lisbon treaty is, cue essay 2- I just made more playlists on grooveshark. If that was part of curriculum Id ace it.

I had a near death experience when I realized Telstra(you heathen fuckwits) disconnected my internet and I thought I would miss my deadline. It's ok, I only ran up a 140 dollar phone bill while I was on hold with you assholes. No big deal.

Can't make a call for oh 2 weeks. Great. Love you. Awesome. Not like you gave me an embolism,tumor or high blood pressure.

Now Im a pretty nice person, I understand how it is to be on the other side of the phone taking your dumbass call. But...why outsource. I am angry, frustrated and annoyed- and I get to wait 40 minutes to speak to someone who is located somewhere in Asia. And does not speak English fluently but just keeps asking what light my modem is even if I told her it was green and red.

I have a headache, it is just not going anywhere.It is a hysterical headache. It feels like a drill inside my head. And I am starting to get cranky. I've had it for 3 days going on a million years.

I got the most important essay of the entire semester to do. In oh a week, the group I am placed in never does shit, the girl I was comparing notes with does not reply emails. This is a group exercise. Hello flunk? I hate group assignments. I dont trust others to actually do something, let alone do it well enough. Perfectionist? Never.

There is not enough classical music to get me through. Codeine does not remove the headache, it just makes you queasy. YUCK

La rømmen koke i en kasserolle cirka 5 minutter.

Sikt i halvparten av melet og rør kraftig.

La det koke på svak varme til smøret (fettet) pipler fram. Fjern smøret med en skje før du rører inn resten av melet og sper med melken.

Parking lot adventures

Dear Australian Job market.

I've been patient. I have been accepting. I have been keen and active. I even applied for jobs I most certainly do not want.

I am sorry- I don't hold a degree in underground mining operations, I am not an electrical engineer or Catholic.

I don't have a car, I don't even have a license. How is this even relevant to answering a phone? Australia is a nice country, but you my dear job market is making me loathe Oz. That's not fair is it. It's not the beaches or the koalas fault that you are such a dick.

I just want a job where I might have some integrity and pinch of self respect left at the end of the day. That should not be so hard. And yeah I want money. So I can leave this stupid country and it's lack of Reeses cups.

There is the Stockton dunes, a little lizard I found in my back yard, Fingal Bay, The moon from my moon date when it was huge and rough sea at Merewether beach- the waves are really 8 ft tall. Yes- maybe they are grainy. Its a Nokia not a Nikon.

Christmas, New Years and Sydney

So it has been eons of time since I bothered writing anything on here. It has been too hot to focus, but finally the rain has come!! Christmas was very different as it was humid and the air stood still. Had Christmas day lunch(I even had ham!!!)and I got the coolest elephant necklace. And a pair of awesome ear rings!

New years Eve was pretty quiet, we didn't go to Sydney this time but next year will def be Sydney time. Wore a pair of new sandals and they gave me blisters of epic quality. The sandals are lovely, but they caused so much pain I had to walk barefoot home!!

And yesterday we went to Sydney to see one of our friends from back in London, and I almost killed some stupid girls on the train who were the loudest people I have ever encountered. Their motor mouths kept going non stop for over 3 hours.

Other than that yesterday was pretty amazing, the Opera house was so pretty and the Harbour Bridge is the hugest bridge I've ever seen. Can't wait to go

back and get my photo taken in front of it, as I had the worst hair

The heat is on

It's hot. No really I am not just saying its hot, we are talking 42 degrees no wind kind of hot. there is wind it doesn't really feel like wind. It feels like a hairdryer, masses of hot wind blowing on your already sweaty body.Neat.

We ventured to a car boot sale, it was full of hilbillies selling crap that no one wants. Being 10 in the morning I figured there was no way I would ever get burnt. How wrong I was. As this photo clearly shows. the redness is now gone, and I am left with being tan, however the tan line looks funny. And for good measure I am throwing in a photo to show how tan I am...my foot versus Adams chest. I win at being Mexican. Other than that christmas is apparently approaching, however I can't seem to find my christmas cheer. I think it is lost in all the heat, it is almost surreal watching all the mommies out christmas shoppping for whatever crap it is they are buying and they are wearing shorts. And I am pretty sure I just saw a little lizard on the sidewalk before I went shopping. I swam in the ocean, on a real sandy beach..second time since Morocco last year. It was absolutely divine. There is literally two fans in use in just one room at the moment. And I just remembered we have a/c it is loud and from what appears to be the 1800 but it works! Oh joy. The door is always open. I don't even notice it. In the beginning it felt odd just leaving the door open. But I kind of get why. Also saw my first "big"spider. Apparently its not considered big. But I am sure it had hairy legs. Like the huge cockroaches we have here are. But the good news is...I wasn't scared. I am no longer that bothered by bugs. They are huge here. And everywhere. I just saw a dragonfly in the backyard the size of my little finger. The roaches are the size of my thumb. The flies will actually land and remain seated on your face. I guess you get over it. Or get good bug spray. Or move. Somehow the north pole allures.

Lazy days

The days are warming up. No they are scorching up, the house is an oven and we are frying.
Well at least I am.
I finally went to the hairdresser to solve my life threatning issues, but I dyed it afterwards and I am regretting it. It will be too hot to have loose hair anyways. No biggie.
We had a lovely Sunday doing alot of planting in pots in the yard, trying to make it look a bit nicer..maybe even nice enough to get a table and some chairs to sit outside on these insanely hot nights. It is currently round 8 pm and I am still SO hot.
I think there is a huge huge huge possibility we are heading for the beach tomorrow and I am SO ready to just dive in. The beach is gorgeous and the water should be warm.
In other news, my rage over Obama winning the Nobel Peace Prize have chilled a bit(it is still wrong)and I am ruling out living in Africa(just imagine ..there is no aircon or fans.. I only visit shops now to enjoy their aircon)and there were 10 earthquakes in the pacific region not long ago that set the tsunami warnings into motion.
I have no pictures, until tomorrow and I wish someone could come kidnap me home to the cold weather(just for a break)

So we went to Oakvale farm and fauna world a few weeks back...slightly delayed here are the photos! It was pretty amazing petting a kangaroo...and the koalas are just what I had imagined them to be! It was totally surreal but so much fun....next up a trip to Blackbutt reserve for a evening walkabout and camping style trip, am totally excited!

Oh Computer fail/Beach adventures

We went to the beach yesterday, summer has really started to kick in, it was 31 degrees and sunny. The beach was semi full of people just chillin enjoying their Sunday!

I almost feel guilty for not going out every time the sun shines(as living in Norway/UK means you gotta enjoy the sunshine while you can)but I have realised the sun ain't going nowhere any time soon...it is only going to get hotter!

The computer suffered a major breakdown over the past weeks and we finally had to bite the bullet and just format it...oh by the way it's a Dell. Don't format a Dell without backing up every piece of driver for it! As we learnt the incredibly hard way. I was able to rescue our pictures and my huge library of musical heaven thankfully. The end result was to go to the local nerdshop/internetcafe where all the computer geeks congregate to play World of Warcraft or Warhammer or some other sort of war games. It is almost an experience in itself.
Teenage boys screaming "hold your fire" at eachother in a room that is almost completely void of sunlight(my theory is that they might turn into dust/stone if sunlight should hit them).
We managed, after alot of swearing to get all the drivers we needed and get the hell out of this nerd paradise. Thankfully a pub called The Wicko is just around the corner and cold beverages were in order- there is only so much geekdom one can handle in one afternoon.
The Wicko is the most interesting pub I've seen so far and it has a incredible beergarden and lots of live music(one of the chicks working there also has the biggest beehive made of dreadlocks I have ever seen and I am slightly jealous cos it looks wicked)
Since we are old and boring we only stayed for one drink, and decided to go home and try and fix this crash of a computer that wouldn't connect to the interweb, and after being on hold with Telstra for what seemed an eternity someone with more than 3 braincells actually helped us and here we are.
The neighbour is still a giant douche toting his bloody chainsaw around at 8.20 every morning,(including a SUNDAY) hammering and sawing building his shed and just being a fuckwit. We made secret wishes about how we want to poison all his trees but it seems like hard work.
House kind of looks like something has exploded and I think it is time to maybe do something about it(it isn't sunny I am not missing out on anything!!)

Tomorrow theres a birthday party and mother/fathers day celebrations, and the farmers market with the inlaws. And there is a rumour of some sort of special trip but I don't know where to or anything. But incase we going to the reserve I am so charging up the batteries for the camera !!!
It appears winter is gone for good and the herbs are totally growing like crazy, the garlic growing the most. I think I am def going to give the tomatoes a chance.

Housewifery

I've made jam. It was supertasty despite the odd combo of apples,pears,kiwi,orange and lemon!
I did make a small jar of strawberry jam too but it tasted pretty crappy as the strawberries themselves were not too fantastic.
Today I got the house to myself and I am fantastically bored. Am making a cheesecake and some thai green curry for dinner but I feel far too lazy to get off my ass to do it.
All this housewifing is getting the better off me. I kind of actually care about the cleanliness of my floors.
Gah must stop and kill these thoughts... just after I do the dishes. Meh

Days of little excitement

Days drag on, with weather that can't really make it's mind up whether or not it wants to be too hot or too cold.I saw my first hairy spider on the bins today, and I can honestly say I was not very impressed(it really made me cringe)
The thyme has started to peek up already but the rest of the little pots are refusing to show any signs of anything. Have been obscenely lazy and not done any breads or anything else. Made a disaster of a vanilla cake, and disaster brownies. Seems that every time I try to make anything from a mix it just turns to shit.
Am starting my social philosophy class in September and I am quite excited about that, will try my hardest to combine it with psychological anthropology and one more subject. I need 30 points at least to be able to qualify for a student loan for next semester to enrol at University of Newcastle.
Think I might drag the boy to the bed, this cricket is boring me to absolute death!

So we went to Kotara to buy a leather rescue remedy for my spanish leather bag and I found the cutest shoes ever in Target. Am absolutely so in love with them I kind of don't want to wear them as I know I will break them. The leather bag has become completely dark brown and I am not even sure it will ever go back to being light again.
I bought some planters and soil today, along with some thai chillies. Am putting them in later today and I am so excited to see if it is actually going to work and if they actually want to grow in my window or not. Think I might just go back to the hardware store and get some basil and a bigger pot if he has any. For some reason it seems everyone wants to be bloody planting herbs these days and he is always sold out.
If my landlord wasn't so damn strict I would plant in the front yard but I would probably have to build a huge fence around it as all the neighbourhood cats think the patch is their litterbox.
Rented out a bunch of movies and The Reader is an absolute stunning movie. Frost/Nixon however was very long, almost Benjamin Button long(if you haven't seen Benjamin Button..well good luck)

Roadtrips, the flu, rugby and tsunamis

Over the past few weeks there have been a road trip with the in laws to Lake Macquaire, I wish I could say this was a fantastic and magical lake but in fact it was just very big and not very pretty. However we did go to Caves beach and it was pretty awesome, the beaches here are so fantastic.

Went to see the Knights take on the Raiders and it was absolutely freezing, I didn't really know any of the rules much but it kind of looks like a sport where you are most likely to end up with severe mental retardation due to not using any form of protection. I mainly ate wasabi peas and tried to ignore the howling woman behind me.The zoo had a little stand with a baby crocodile and other baby animals which I did not hang round to find out what they were. But the end result was a teeth rattling windy cold night and I got the flu. I would like to belive this was the swineflu so I would be immune but somehow I doubt it

We also had a tsunami warning here, they briefly and oh so casually mentioned that they put out a warning. I was half freaking out as I envisioned waves of water as tall as skyscrapers and not to mention crocodiles and sharks who live in the waters to come swooping over me.

End result was 20 cm waves on the beach. Major crisis averted I think(also apparantly there are no crocodiles here) But it was really weird as you don't really get them in Europe. Conclusion the weather here is kind of violent.

Farmers Market and wasteful movies

Went to the Farmers Market on Sunday, I love how close it is to where I live and how cheap it is. Not to mention the fact that I know where it comes from. 99 % of all the stall holders sell all organic produce.
I bought a rainbow trout, brie, leeks, a net of garlic and some bananas for $18. Meat in this country is so cheap, I once paid $10 for two pieces of lamb and a chicken breast.
I don't even dare to think what it would cost me at home.
It feels alot better living down here than it ever did in the UK, mainly due to the diet from hell(imagine fries and sandwiches and Maccas every day due to no cooking facilities)getting up in the morning doesn't make you feel like you would rather prefer to be dead.
The air is cleaner, the people friendlier(the brie lady came running after me when I forgot to get my change...)and the winter..well it is cold in the house but it sure beats English winters!!!

Rented out IT last night- remembering it to be extremly cool and scary. My God memory serves wrong. It is a waste of money. Of time. In the end I hoped the clown would kill them all. It is sad when the children act better than the adults.
Must always remember that all Stephen King movies suck ass. So far Dreamcatcher and The Mist made me want to slit my own wrists. And what's up with the aliens. Why is there always some alien monster thing in all of them. Why?

Neighbours and chainsaws

I am so tired. My tree lovin neighbour is grooming his garden at 7.30 with a giant chainsaw. When he is finished my other neighbour decides to play Walkin on Sunshine so loud the walls vibrate. I kind of hate both of them.
Found a wonderful shop today on Hunter with lots of cheap makeup. Of course in a few months time its going to be so hot all make up will just slide of your face anyways.
I feel Tom Hanks character in that movie from the 80s about bad neighbours pain. Didnt he like kill them? Of course my neighbour is 30 and has his mommy come over to do his laundry. There is just that slight possibility he is retarded.

On the top of my neck I am still getting the vegvisir and the quote "all who wander is not lost" which I think is a wonderful quote- however I am not thrilled about where it is from so it might be debateable.

I would eventually in time also like to get the white one aswell, I am yet to decide about this, as it it really just recommended for quite pale and white people.

Winter chills

I actually never thought it could be kind of cold in Australia, so I kind of packed lightly. Hey go figure it was 4 degrees the other week.
Australians planned poorly for this weather and forgot to insulate their houses. Fail.
I have great visions of planting tomatoes and several other herbs when it is a bit closer to fall. I wish I could plant more stuff. I sort of want to live reclused and have my own garden. But I could be wrong, and hate it. And then become a crazy serial killer.
Am not quite sure I can take that risk just yet.
So want more tattoos at the moment and I really want a white ink one. I dont even know why. I just figure it might look exceptionally cool.
